School of Music

The County Monaghan School of Music was established in 2004.  This initiative is intended to address a local need – for expert, co-ordinated, accessible teaching and learning of music, at all levels, throughout the county.

Music Lessons – Monaghan

Cavan and Monaghan ETB currently offer quality and professional training in playing various musical instruments at Beech Hill College, Monaghan and Inver College, Carrickmacross. New, and returning, children and adults of all ages and all abilities are welcome, from beginner right up to advanced levels.


  • For the younger children (4-6 year olds) Kinder Music classes (in Carrickmacross only) offers a programme full of fun and interaction – engaging the children in a variety of musical learning experiences. No instruments are needed – everything will be supplied at the Kinder Music class.  Cost is €85.00 for 12 weeks.


  • For older children and adults, tuition is available in: Guitar, Drums/Bodhran, Tin Whistle, Accordion, Banjo/Mandolin, Fiddle, Traditional Flute and Ukulele.  With our experienced and reliable teachers, students find the classes very useful in preparing for the Junior Cert or Leaving Cert Music examinations, while other students have attained qualifications/certification through the London College of Music.  Classes cost €135.00 for 12 weeks, except Tin Whistle, which is €85.00 for 12 weeks.

The closing date for next terms’ enrolment is Friday, 6th September 2019.  Book as soon as possible as places are limited!
