Cavan and Monaghan ETB offers an extensive range of training courses to clients entering the labour market, wishing to re-skill or update skills, change their career path or have left school with no or incomplete qualifications.
Courses are delivered in local areas throughout Cavan and Monaghan leaving it easier for trainees to access the programmes. Courses are demand driven adhering to the needs of the community and the labour market and will give our clients the skills necessary to progress to further training options and/or seek employment.
Training is provided across three programme types:
SOLAS has the responsibility of managing the Apprenticeship programme nationally and CMETB has the responsibility of administrating and managing apprenticeship within Cavan and Monaghan.
Apprenticeship is the recognised means by which people are trained to become craftspeople and the apprentice must first obtain employment in their chosen craft with an approved employer.
Apprenticeship is a modular standards based education and training programme. It comprises of alternating phases on the job and off the job training. The duration of the apprenticeship is determined by the chosen craft and its educational and development needs.
