Community Training

Community Training Programmes comprise of Local Training Initiative and Specialist Training Provisions.  The main objectives of the community programmes is to raise trainee skills through certified training and therefore enhance employment prospects.  All learners within community training programmes are offered QQI levels 3,4 or 5 certification.

The target group for the Local Training Initiative (LTI) programmes include those with low skills or education levels and have been on the live register for longer period of time and are aged between 16-35 years of age.  Within 2015 CMETB funded the following areas for local Training Initiative programmes: Cavan Genealogy programmes in Cavan,  Ballyjamesduff, Cootehill and Bailieborough, Iontas Centre, Castleblayney, Mullaghmatt, Monaghan and the Peacelink, Clones.

Specialist Training Programmes

CMETB fund two specialist training provisions which identify the training needs of people with disabilities.  The National Learning Network in Monaghan and Cavan deliver a range of programmes to 59 learners.  Both programmes offer specialist training which include intensive supports specific to individual needs.
