Youth Service Providers across Cavan and Monaghan supported by CMETB in their funding transition to the new UBU Your Place Your Space scheme

February 12, 2020

A major new youth funding scheme entitled, UBU – Your Place Your Space has launched in Cavan and Monaghan.

The national scheme, driven by The Department of Children and Youth Affairs provides funding for targeted youth services across the country.

To get on board with the new scheme, Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) hosted a ‘UBU  – Your Place Your Space’ workshop to support local Youth Service Providers in the region.

Representatives from the four eligible local youth projects spent a morning engaging with CMETB’s Youth Officer Maureen McIntyre and the Youth Services team. The workshop allowed youth groups to review the scheme and application process.

The new scheme aims to provide services that support young people to develop the personal and social skills required to improve their life chances. These include services covering health, education, employment and social connectedness.

The scheme targets young people who are marginalised, disadvantaged, or vulnerable.

UBU – Your Place, Your Space was designed in collaboration with young people, Department of Children and Youth Affairs, the youth sector, and Education and Training Boards over the last five years.
