Pictured above are participants who successfully completed a 10 week (30 hr.) Training Programme with Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB). The programme is designed to train people to work as volunteer tutors within the Adult Literacy Service of CMETB.

The Volunteer tutors will work alongside Adult Literacy tutors in a range of class groups, including reading, writing, numeracy, basic IT and Communications. Some Volunteers will also work on a one-to-one basis with adult learners.

The Volunteers have a vital role to play in providing time and commitment, to aid learning for those who wish to improve their skills in a non-judgemental and safe environment.   The emphasis is on encouraging and facilitating an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience for all students.

If you or another adult would like help with literacy – reading, writing, spelling, numeracy and comprehension, CMETB would welcome your call.  The right to read and write is important to us.
