Today 30th June, we learnt of the very sad and untimely passing of our dear friend and colleague, Jason Donohue, after a lengthy illness.
Jason started working for Cavan VEC on 6th May 2008 as an Adult Guidance Counsellor. He dedicated his time in CMETB to helping the many learners, clients and indeed staff who came his way. While he worked primarily in Adult Education Services, he also assisted Youthreach, PLC and VTOS learners. In addition, he supported staff through his ongoing work with the TUI throughout his many years’ service. He gave freely of his time and his empathic nature made people instantly warm to him and open up to him. His advice and his time were both generously given.
He was humble and not entirely aware of the difference and impact he made in people’s lives. He was quick of wit, which always made him wonderful company for any social occasions and coffee mornings we enjoyed. He had a strong faith, which guided him through his difficult battle over the past 2 years. He never complained and welcomed all messages of supports and offer of prayers with genuine appreciation and humility. He was consistently thankful for the support offered by staff and learners of CMETB.
He will be sorely missed by his many colleagues and friends in CMETB. We are all the richer for knowing him.
We would like to express our most sincere sympathy to his family- Siobhán, Saibh and Shóna and to his parents and sister and extended family and friends at this sad time.
Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís
Jason, may you now rest in peace
