The Department of Education and Skills has approved grant funding for major extension works at Beech Hill College, Monaghan
The project will include the construction of a multi-storey extension to the existing school building at Tirkeenan in Monaghan town. The substantial programme of work will deliver a purpose-built special needs unit for the post primary school along with six new general classrooms, four Special Education Teacher (SET) support rooms, a new multimedia room, a woodwork room with prep area and two science laboratories with prep area.
The project highlights the commitment of Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) in delivering quality education opportunities for the young people of Monaghan. John Kearney, Chief Executive, Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board, said; “We are delighted to announce that the Department is making a significant investment in new permanent accommodation at Beech Hill College. The project will further enhance the educational experience of students and staff at the school.”

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board will now appoint a design team to deliver the project.
